(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Hundreds of people put on their green and made their way downtown despite the chilly weather, for the 41st annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Colorado Springs on Saturday, March 16.
Organizers planned a day full of excitement, featuring the largest parade in Colorado Springs, the flattest 5k, an action-packed fun run, and more. Those attending may have spotted some familiar faces as the FOX21 Storm Squatch and members of the FOX21 News team joined the parade.
Nearly 100 entries marched in the parade, including school groups, community clubs, church organizations, bands, and western groups, such as the Range Riders and Rangerettes.
“I just moved back here from Seattle and never really got the chance to come to these parades before and since it’s my first year back, I thought it’d be a fun way to celebrate,” said Brooke Shelton, a community member.
Kevin Shaughnessy, President and CEO of Phil Long Dealerships served as the parade’s Grand Marshall.
