(COLORADO) — The Ice Castles are returning to Cripple Creek along with a second location in Eagle.
This is the second year the Ice Castles are at Cripple Creek, having previously been featured in Dillon. Ice Castles said Eagle is the heart of Ski County and will welcome another outdoor winter attraction.
“We are thrilled to add a second location in Colorado this winter where we can create a sense of magic and wonder for our guests,” said Ice Castles’ CEO Kyle Standifird. “Our team is energized to build an experience in Eagle that compliments the stunning natural beauty adjacent to the Eagle River.”
Ice Castles said construction on both castles will begin in late October with a team of about 20 ice artisans who will spend several weeks building the castles using icicles that are grown, harvested, and hand-placed one by one. The acre-sized winter playgrounds are illuminated at night by color-changing LED lights embedded in the ice.
Ice Castles usually open in late December and remain open until early March. Cripple Creek holds an annual Ice Festival that is scheduled for Feb. 15 to Feb. 23, 2025.
