It’s a boy! Cheyenne Mountain Zoo gorilla gender reveal

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Animal lovers will remember The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (CMZoo) welcomed the first gorilla born at the zoo in almost 13 years on July 21. Well, that baby turned two weeks old on Aug. 5, and CMZoo celebrated with a gender reveal.

CMZoo’s celebratory posts highlighted that Asha’s baby boy is perfectly healthy and hitting his early milestones.

“The little one recently reached an important gorilla milestone — grasping and clinging tightly to Asha as she moves carefully around. With gentle pats and attentive care, Asha nurses and regularly checks in on her baby. While Asha enjoys bonding with her baby in private spaces like nests and dens, she sometimes shows her baby to guests near the viewing areas,” said in a post to their Facebook page.

As per CMZoo tradition, the baby will get a name when he turns 30 days old. So, be sure to check back with FOX21 News or CMZoo’s Facebook page for updates.
