(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A judge has dismissed a case against a Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) sergeant who was accused of intimidating a victim.
Glenn Eric Thomas, a 30-year veteran officer with CSPD, was arrested in November 2024 after allegedly intimidating a 10-year-old victim. Thomas was facing several charges, including Witness/Victim Intimidating, Tampering with Witness/Victim, and two charges of Civil Violations, which he pled not guilty to in February 2025.
On Monday, July 28, Thomas was due back in court, and his charges were dismissed. The defense argued that, though a Woodland Park Police officer had initially confronted Thomas over an allegation involving one of the victims, the officer was not clear when he spoke to Thomas about the status of the investigation, or if it would continue.
Thomas later called a supervisor at CSPD relating to his interaction with the Woodland Park policeman. In a recorded call, the supervisor did not specifically tell the defendant not to talk with the victim, and told him he should do what he thought was best. The supervisor also advised Thomas not to act to intimidate the child and to include a third party in a conversation with her.
Thomas was contacted by the victim, and once there, Thomas insisted on a third party to be present for a conversation between him and the victim. At that point, the school principal witnessed Thomas asking the victim if she was lying to someone. The victim responded yes and said that she was afraid to tell him.
The principal asked if she had lied, and the child assured she had.
Due to the inability to prove the charges against Thomas, the charges were dismissed, and the records will be sealed.
FOX21 News reached out to CSPD, to which the department said it did not have a comment on the case. During the investigation, Thomas was placed on administrative leave; FOX21 is working to learn more about his current work status.
