Kent Olin Field Plaza at El Pomar Youth Sports Park opens

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Saturday, April 26, Colorado Springs Youth Sports, Inc. and Mayor Yemi Mobolade celebrated the grand opening of the Kent Olin Field Plaza at El Pomar Youth Sports Park.

The new plaza features a 10,000 sq. ft. practice field with a rebound wall, a pavilion with seating, a playground, a concession stand, a restroom trailer, and a food truck area, along with improved landscaping.

“The El Pomar Youth Sports Park hosts thousands of area youth athletes and is also home to more than a dozen tourism-based tournaments that contribute to the robust sports-tourism economy of Olympic City USA,” said Mayor Yemi Mobolade. “The City is pleased to have supported this project through a Lodging and Rental Car Tax (LART) grant through which tourism dollars are reinvested in community initiatives that drive additional tourism expenditures.”
