DENVER (KDVR) — The largest home in the area of Vail and Beaver Creek hit the market for millions, and it’s filled with an indoor pool, wine salon, library — and a rich backstory.
According to the newly posted listing on Sotheby’s International Realty, the largest home near the ski areas is the over 20,000-square-foot home along the Beaver Creek Golf Course on a 1.5-acre lot.
Inside lies ballroom-inspired rooms, a wine salon that can hold up to 2,000 bottles, a tasting room, a library, a sauna, an indoor pool and a spa with a staircase that leads up to the 5,000-square-foot primary suite.
Here’s a look inside:
Not only is the house the largest in the area, but it also comes with a history.
The listing said the home was designed in 1985 by architect Charles Sink, who was also the designer of Vail Village’s Clock Tower.
Originally owned by Sergio Bolaños, who the realty company said was a prominent Mexican businessman tied to Pemex contracting and the oil workers’ union. But, after his arrest in 1989, the home was sold in 1991, the property underwent several changes.
The listing said that Dr. Malik and Seeme Hasan bought the home after. Hasan, the founder of QualMed, which grew into the Fortune 200 company HealthNet, added the primary wing and equipped the estate with video conferencing and telecommunications systems.
The 9-bedroom, 13-bathroom is located in the gated Beaver Creek Resort community with property benefits like 24-hour complimentary transportation to the slopes, golf course, and any other destination within the resort.
But for a house this big in the mountains, it comes with a price tag of $25 million.
