DENVER (KDVR) — The Quarry Fire continued to burn southwest of Ken Caryl in Jefferson County on Sunday.
A deputy discovered the fire around 9 p.m. Tuesday along Deer Creek Canyon Road west of Grizzly Drive, with the fire burning hundreds of acres since. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that this is an arson investigation and the fire is believed to be “human-caused in some manner.”
Quarry Fire evacuees must get a resident pass for re-entry as officials plan to allow people home when it’s safe.
How to get a resident re-entry pass:
Location: Evacuation site at Dakota Ridge High School, 13399 W. Coal Mine Avenue
Date: Saturday, Aug. 3, or Sunday, Aug. 4
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Requirements: Proof of residency
