Local app ‘Roll-Up’ makes moving and hauling easier

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A new app called Roll-Up is revolutionizing the way people move items locally by offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional moving companies.

Developed by a local veteran, Roll Up functions like a ride-share service but for moving items. Users simply take a photo of the items they want to move and name their price. A local hauler then receives a notification and can negotiate a price, often at a lower rate than traditional moving companies, much like the set up for ride-share companies.

“All they have to do is take a photo of whatever it is they want moved… and they name the price that they think is fair,” said Connor Santana, CEO of Roll-Up.

Roll-Up not only helps people move items like old couches or entire dorm rooms, but it also creates job opportunities for local haulers.

Garrett Goudeseune, a hauler for Roll-Up, explained how the app allows him to pick up jobs on the go, making extra income by accepting jobs that fit his schedule for a fraction of the price of big moving companies.

“Boom, there’s a job. It’s kind of near me. Bam, accept it. Go pick up someone’s stuff on my way to a next job. Make a little extra income. It’s awesome,” said Goudeseune.

The app also provides a solution for removing unwanted furniture and materials, such as 55-gallon barrels from job sites.

“It’s actually kind of fun to be able to engage with these guys and see how they do it,” said Ron Hardman, a customer.

Additionally, Roll-Up can assist with transporting oversized items purchased from platforms like Facebook Marketplace that may not fit in a standard vehicle, for people who don’t own a truck.

“I think this is the secret to Roll-Up, is that you can get those items, those oversize items that you wouldn’t be able to get,” Goudeseune said.

Roll Up is making moving easier and more affordable for local residents while providing flexible job opportunities for community members of all ages.

“It was just super helpful to know that somebody actually cares about my move-in and is like there to help me,” said new UCCS student, Marianny Torres, after using Roll Up to move in to her dorm.

As more people discover the convenience and cost savings, the app is poised to change the way people think about moving. You can download the app on Google Play or in the Apple App Store.
