(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Kye Galvin, a local senior from TCA High School, has been selected to perform in New York City at the renowned Carnegie Hall on Feb. 9. After performing with the Colorado All-State Choir last year, Galvin was invited to audition for the Honors Performance Series and after doing so, was then selected out of 10,000 nominees to help sing the bass part with the Honors Choir at their upcoming performance.
“Music and singing has been my passion since I was five years old,” said Galvin. “Theatre and arts have been my love ever since. There are so many talented people and I feel so fortunate to be asked to go to New York City, a place I have never been before. My family and I are going early so we can enjoy the atmosphere and see some Broadway shows.”
Galvin performed ‘Plaisir d’amour’ by Jean-Peal-Egide Martin, a classic French song for Loving Living Local with his pianist Rebecca Hewett. Watch the performance in the video player above.
