(GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo.) — As our ‘We Are Gunnison County‘ week continues, FOX21 Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Matt Meister hit the road and headed out west to check out everything the beautiful valley of Gunnison has to offer.

On Tuesday morning, Sept. 24, Matt stopped by The Coffee Trader in Gunnison to try out the local brew and spoke with a local about the top things to do in town.

Kim Rish, who lives in Gunnison joined Matt on Tuesday morning and spoke about Gunnison’s small-town feel and the many places people can go to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery.

“There’s nowhere you can go in town that you can’t meet someone you know and there’s nowhere in town where you can’t go into a business that doesn’t welcome you,” said Rish.

Rish also spoke about her favorite things to do outdoors which include biking, hiking, and walking. “One thing I love about Gunnison is, that it’s a little flatter than most towns, so for someone my age, that’s kind of nice,” she added.
