(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Air Force Thunderbirds are in town for the 2024 U.S. Air Force Academy graduation, and on Wednesday, May 29 they are planning to conduct a practice flight along with five-time Olympic medalist swimmer Missy Franklin-Johnson.
FOX21 has reached out to the community for suggestions on the best places to watch the Thunderbirds during the 2024 graduation flyover on Thursday, May 30.
Below are just a few of the locations suggested:
The area near Peterson Boulevard and Space Village Avenue
The area near Interquest Parkway and I-25
The area near North Gate Boulevard and I-25
See what other areas people have suggested on our Facebook page, here.
Drivers should not stop along I-25 or Academy roads to watch the Thunderbirds. Extensive road closures and traffic detours are planned on the Academy while the Thunderbirds are flying, and, for the sake of safety, drivers should not stop along I-25 or Academy roads to watch the flyover or demonstrations.
