(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Jeff Bekos is biking 4,600 miles cross-country to raise awareness and money for a charity that helped him when he was dealing with a medical emergency of a family member.

Bekos is the founder of One Dad’s Mission, which said on its website that it was started after Bekos’s daughter had a sudden medical emergency that required a lengthy hospital stay. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) allowed the parents to stay close to their daughter while she recovered. Bekos is biking from coast to coast to raise money and awareness for the charity.

On Wednesday, Aug. 21 Bekos will make a stop in Colorado Springs. Bekos is riding across the country, stopping at 26 different RMHCs, ending in Philadelphia.
