Man charged with attempted murder in drive-by shooting

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A Colorado Springs man has been arrested on multiple charges including attempted murder in connection to a November 2024 drive-by shooting in which nearly 20 shots were fired at an occupied car and a nearby house.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded just before 10:45 p.m. on Nov. 29, 2024 to a report of a drive-by shooting in the 2200 block of Monteagle Street, near Palmer Park.

Upon Arrival, officers found a woman who reported she had been sitting in her car waiting for it to warm up when an unknown man drove by her car and fired approximately 19 rounds, hitting the woman’s car and a nearby house. Thankfully, the woman was not hit by any gunfire.

On April 15, 2025, detectives with the Assault Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Colorado Springs resident Joshua Spradling. Spradling was charged with two counts of first degree attempted murder, felony menacing, and illegal discharge of a firearm.

When the arrest warrant was obtained, Spradling was already incarcerated in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on unrelated charges.
