(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has arrested a man who is a prolific offender and has eluded law enforcement several times.
On Wednesday, April 16, the Colorado Springs Police Department Motor Vehicle Theft Unit conducted an investigation that led to the arrest of 34-year-old Jonathan Rohde, who CSPD called a “statutorily motor vehicle theft prolific offender.”
Detectives discovered he was responsible for two stolen vehicles, and he escaped law enforcement three times. According to CSPD, surveillance was conducted on Rohde, and the Tactical Enforcement Unit was able to take him into custody and prevent him from escaping.
During the investigation, detectives found Rohde had a stolen gun and a felony amount of methamphetamine. Because of his criminal history, he was charged with Special Offender, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender, two counts of Motor Vehicle Theft, three counts of Vehicular Eluding, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
