(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, April 17, Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade spoke about the Keep It Clean COS Initiative, a citywide effort to remove trash from medians, streets, and other public walkways.
Mayor Mobolade said in 2024, the Keep It Clean initiative helped clean 31 million square feet of medians in town, 114 million square feet of right of ways, and collected almost 55,000 tons of debris and trash.
“We are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our local nonprofits and community partners because keeping our city clean takes all of us,” said Mayor Mobolade.
Mayor Mobolade said you can help by reporting trash to neighborhood services, joining a trash mob to help clean, or even coordinating a neighborhood cleanup.
More information on how to set up cleaning events can be found on the City of Colorado Springs’ website.
