(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) said a man has been arrested after an investigation into the circumstances where a minor girl was shot on Monday, Dec. 9.
According to PPD, on Monday a little before 9 p.m. officers were called to a hospital about a report of a minor girl with a gunshot wound to her lower leg. Officers’ investigation revealed the girl was in a garage in the 2300 block of Balboa Road in Pueblo’s Northside along with 42-year-old Adam McKenna.
According to police, a minor boy entered the garage with a handgun and asked McKenna to fix the gun which he did, and returned the gun to the boy. The boy allegedly fired the gun and the bullet ricocheted off the garage floor and hit the girl in the leg.
PPD said the boy was screened into PUeblo Youth Services for the charges of Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile and Second Degree Assault in connection to the shooting. McKenna was booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center for Unlawfully Providing or Permitting a Juvenile to Possess a Handgun.
