Multiple agencies respond to wildfire off Hwy. 96

UPDATE: THURSDAY 2/29/2024 2:05 p.m.

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) posted an update that as of 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, the fire had burned at least 50 acres and was at 0% containment.

The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) said multiple fire agencies are responding to a wildfire off Highway 96, west of Pueblo

PCSO posted to social media at around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29 that agencies were responding to a wildfire about 12 to 14 miles west of the entrance to the Pueblo Reservoir on Hwy 96. PCSO said the cause of the fire was unknown and size was being determined.

The agencies that are responding to the fire include:

West Park

Rye

Beulah

Pueblo West

Pueblo

AMR

PCSO said no structures are threatened at this time.
