Nationwide fugitive captured in Custer County

(CUSTER COUNTY, Colo.) — A fugitive with a nationwide warrant was captured in Custer County on Wednesday, July 2.

According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), on Wednesday afternoon, deputies received an alert that nationwide fugitive Paul Hendrych was in the county. CCSO said Hendrych had a warrant out of Arizona for drug charges and a previous weapons history.

Hendrych’s car was located in a business parking lot, and a deputy observed Hendrych wearing shorts and a t-shirt with no visible weapon. Deputies did not want Hendrych to gain access to his car and potentially become armed, so he was apprehended while walking from the business to his car.
