(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) is currently on the scene of a crash that involved three vehicles and has closed part of northbound I-25.
CSPD Communications reported the crash on I-25 near exit 141 (Cimarron Street) via X (formerly known as Twitter) at around 8:10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27. According to CSPD, one of the vehicles rear-ended another, causing the crash.
Police said one of the drivers is being evaluated for a possible DUI, but said the driver did not cause the crash. Another driver was transported to the hospital and evaluated for injuries after complaining of back pain, however, there are no serious injuries.
As of 9:25 a.m., CSPD said that the far left lane is the only open lane. Police expect the interstate to open within the next 20 minutes.
People are advised to take different routes, and drivers can enter I-25 north of Cimarron Street.
