New Mayor of Palmer Lake appointed

(PALMER LAKE, Colo.) — The town of Palmer Lake Board of Trustees has appointed a mayor after the previous mayor resigned in early June.

On June 5, Glant Havenar resigned as Mayor of Palmer Lake after 12 years of service to the community.

On Thursday, June 12, the Palmer Lake Board of Trustees voted to appoint Mayor Pro Tem Dennis Stern in a five-to-one vote.

“Going forward, I will be conducting my responsibilities with the best interests of the citizens of Palmer Lake as my guide,” said Stern. “That is not to say all will agree with everything myself and the board will do, but to the best of our ability, I and they will make our decisions for their benefit and for the future viability of Palmer Lake.”
