New superintendent welcomes students back to D38

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Students in Lewis-Palmer School District 38 (D38) headed back to school on Wednesday, Aug. 14, under the leadership of a new superintendent.

Dr. Stacie Datteri joins the district as Superintendent, bringing 29 years of experience in education. She previously worked as the Assistant Superintendent in Greely-Evans Weld County.

Dr. Datteri welcomed students back to school with selfies and high-fives on the school busses Wednesday morning.

“I am just so excited to be able to be a part of this amazing school district,” said Dr. Datteri. “I didn’t really choose to be anywhere else but here, as the superintendent, and to be able to welcome our students back. Our teachers have been preparing for this. Our staff have been preparing for this day for many days. And it’s just been a beautiful start to the school year already.”
