No arrests made in Sunday fatal shooing in Pueblo

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday night, April 7 on the south side of Pueblo.

According to PPD, officers responded just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of Elm Street, northwest of I-25 and Northern Avenue. When officers arrived, they found an adult man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim was declared dead on scene, PPD said. Crimes Against Persons Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and are investigating this shooting death as a homicide. The Pueblo County Coroner will determine the official cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the victim. This is the 11th homicide in Pueblo in 2024.
