Northbound I-25 closed in Walsenburg for emergency repairs

(WALSENBURG, Colo.) — I-25 northbound has closed south of Pueblo for emergency safety barrier repairs and is expected to be closed until Monday evening, May 20.

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), northbound lanes of the interstate closed at 4 p.m. on Monday at Exit 50/CO 10 in Walsenburg, and are expected to remain closed until approximately 8 p.m.

CDOT said all northbound traffic will be rerouted off the interstate at Exit 50 with a detour directing drivers to take I-25C through the City of Walsenburg and reenter northbound I-25 at Exit 52/Gardner W; Westcliffe.

Delays are expected in the area, motorists are asked to plan alternate routes, and if you must travel in the area, use caution and watch for detour signage and construction crews.
