(PUEBLO/CUSTER COUNTIES, Colo.) — The Oak Ridge Fire has breached the 1,000 acre milestone as it continues to burn in Pueblo County and into Custer County.

In an update on the Oak Ridge Fire Facebook page shortly after 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, incident managers said the fire had grown to 1,008 acres. Containment remains at 0%.

A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) was also issued in the area of the fire, discouraging drone or other unauthorized aircraft from flying over the fire, as they pose a danger to firefighting aerial operations.

The incident team said some of the growth on Wednesday was expected, with rough terrain and winds driving the expansion. Crews continue to run structure assessment and build fire lines where possible.
