(SOUTHERN COLORADO) – After an above average September of warmth in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, October is looking to bring more of the same. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center released their 30 day outlook for October on the last day of September and there is a 70 percent chance that the heart of the viewing area will see above average temperatures this month.
The CPC analyzes a strong signal of moisture being below average through the month, too. This combination signals a lack of help to the ski resorts looking to get some natural help from snow-making efforts.
The outlooks do not provide a magnitude, meaning how much warmer than average or how much drier than average we are likely to be, but my extended forecast for the first part of the month is available on our weather page.
