(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Department (CSPD), El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), and Colorado State Patrol (CSP) conducted a BATTLE operation throughout El Paso County and Colorado Springs that culminated with various individuals being charged and one arrested.
On Monday, Nov. 18, all three law enforcement agencies set out across the City for a Beat Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement (BATTLE) deployment. During the operation, the agencies recovered four vehicles and arrested three individuals.
Mykael Weathington, 18, was arrested and charged with felony vehicle eluding, motor vehicle theft, resisting arrest, and possession of a 9 mm Glock with the serial numbers defaced. Two other people, 19-year-old James Penny and 18-year-old Donivaul Collins were charged with unlawful possession of a concealed firearm.
