(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported one person is dead following a rollover off of Rampart Range Road on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Early Tuesday morning, around 12:30 a.m., CSPD was made aware of a crash near mile marker four along Rampart Range Rd. Alongside the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), CSPD officers went to the area, where they began their search for the crash.

In the official report, CSPD says, “according to the initial information, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled multiple times.” They also included that a passenger of the rolled car managed to walk away from the crash and get help from a passing driver.

Police and CSFD were able to find the car, also finding one already dead inside. CSPD’s Major Crash Team is now investigating the crash.
