One dead following hit-and-run in Monument

(MONUMENT, Colo.) — One person is dead following a hit-and-run crash in Monument on Monday, Nov. 4.

According to the Town of Monument, officers with the Monument Police Department (MPD) responded to a hit-and-run crash in the 700 block of West Baptist Road, near the intersection with Jackson Creek Parkway.

When officers arrived, they found a person dead on scene. The driver who hit the person left the scene.

The Town of Monument asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact MPD at (719) 481-3253.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) will be providing more information to the media in Monument Monday evening. FOX21 News has a crew on the way to the scene and will provide updates when more information is available.
