(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Monday morning in Fountain.

Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Pemmican Point around 3:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 after reports of a shooting. EPSO has confirmed that one person is dead and one person is injured.

The sheriff’s office said that the scene is still active, but there is no threat to the public. Deputies are currently investigating the shooting.
