Over 200 flights delayed, several canceled at DIA on snowy Monday morning

DENVER (KDVR) — After a weekend filled with travel delays, the Denver International Airport is continuing to have setbacks on Monday.

Over the weekend, more than a thousand flights were delayed Saturday as a snowstorm hit Denver. Those delays continued into Sunday with over 400 flights delayed and several canceled. Heading into the workweek, there are still weather impacts and travel delays.


What to expect for the incoming arctic blast on Monday and Tuesday

Monday and Tuesday are Pinpoint Weather Alert Days due to the snowy, icy and cold conditions in the metro and mountains. While the majority of the arctic blast is coming Monday night and into Tuesday morning, roadways have already been closed for conditions and many flights at DIA have been delayed and canceled.

Delays, cancellations at DIA

According to FlightAware, a flight-tracking website, there are currently 271 flights delayed and 14 flights canceled, as of 10:40 a.m. United Airlines and SkyWest have the most delayed and canceled flights. United has 85 flights delayed and two canceled, while SkyWest has 50 flights delayed and five canceled.

Here’s what the visibility looks like at the airport as of 11:15 a.m.:

DIA said there’s low visibility an arrival traffic is experiencing an increasing airborne delay between 16 and 30 minutes.
