(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The city announced on Friday, June 14 that Panorama Park has received a 2024 Colorado Lottery Starburst Award.
The 13.5-acre park located in Southeast Colorado Springs is one of 13 projects in the state to receive an award and is now eligible for a People’s Choice Award. Voting starts Saturday, June 15, and closes Monday, July 15. The park was awarded $350,000.
The Starburst Award recognizes excellence in the utilization of Lottery funds for community and conservation projects. Winners are selected based on various criteria, including project creativity, economic and social impact on the community, and broader implications for the state.
Some other 2024 Starburst Award Winners include Brick and Tile Park in La Junta, the Winter Wildlife Conservation Initiative, and the Butterfield Crossing and Possibilities Playground in Castle Rock.
Lottery proceeds are distributed through grants via Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) and other community organizations.
