(PUEBLO, Colo.) — According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), detectives arrested Samantha Kimberly, a 38-year-old woman, on Saturday, June 8, for child abuse involving her two children, one of whom suffered life-threatening injuries.
The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies arrived at a home in Pueblo West around 5 p.m., where they found the children. The youngest, a 3-year-old boy, was found unconscious and breathing abnormally. Medical personnel gave aid to the child and transported him to the hospital, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. He was later taken to a hospital in Colorado Springs by helicopter.
The oldest, a 14-year-old boy, was treated for visible, non-life-threatening injuries. He has been placed with the Department of Human Services.
According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, Kimberly was arrested after being questioned by detectives in connection to causing injuries to both children. She has been booked into the Pueblo County Jail.
