Pedestrian identified in fatal traffic crash on June 2

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A pedestrian who died in a fatal crash with a motorcycle on June 2 has been identified as 46-year-old Faraz Rouhani of Colorado Springs. The crash occurred at the intersection of Powers Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard.

At 10:11 p.m. on June 2, officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to the crash. Rouhani died at the scene, according to personnel from AMR and the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD). The rider of the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

An investigation by the Major Crash Team found that Rouhani was crossing in the crosswalk, from the west side of Powers Boulevard to the east side, on the south side of the intersection, against a red light. The motorcycle was traveling north on Powers and entered the intersection on a green light, striking Rouhani as he crossed.
