(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a pedestrian has been killed in a crash at North Powers and Palmer Park Boulevards in the evening hours of Sunday, June 2.
According to CSPD, on Sunday, at around 10:15 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Palmer Park Blvd and N. Power Blvd. about a crash between a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
When officers arrived medical personnel from AMR and the Colorado Springs Fire Department declared the pedestrian dead on the scene.
Police said initial investigation indicated the motorcycle was traveling north on N. Powers Blvd. with a green light when the pedestrian was crossing in the crosswalk against a red light, and the motorcycle hit the pedestrian.
CSPD said it is early in the investigation and it is unknown if there are any other contributing factors. The road was closed for several hours, reopening at around 5 a.m. on Monday, June 3.
