(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Tim Tebow’s Night to Shine event in the Pikes Peak Region is almost here. It’s a prom night for young adults with special needs, and it kicks off on Feb. 7.
To make the night one to remember, Something New Boutique in Colorado Springs provided free dresses for those attending. Each shopper got their own personal stylist and a private suite with a mountain view to find their perfect dress.
The day was very emotional, and filled with tears of joy. One shopper even said she felt like a Barbie princess. That’s the goal of Night to Shine and Something New, working together to create memories that will last a lifetime.
“It is just like a bride finding her dress and feeling really beautiful. So I love that my staff and our team is able to celebrate and to see these ladies really light up, feel beautiful, feel celebrated, and it totally be for free,” said Mindi Linscombe, the Owner of Something New Boutique.
About 40 different prom queens were able to choose from around 150 donated dresses.
“When I saw her come out in [the] dress the first time, I definitely started to tear up. I mean, she just looks amazing, and she’s just such a special part of our life and our family. I’m just so glad that she gets to be celebrated in this way,” said Andi Roman, mom of one of the shoppers.
If you’d like to donate a dress, Something New plans to do the event again next year and they’d love your help. If you do have a dress to donate, you’ll just have to hold on to it until next January.
