Person killed after car hit by train in Security-Widefield

(SECURITY-WIDEFIELD, Colo.) — One person is dead after a train hit a car on Main Street in Security-Widefield.

According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the crash happened at the railroad crossing over Main Street just east of Highway 85 around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 20.

CSP confirmed one person is dead, though the train did not stop and it is believed the train operator may not have known it hit a car. CSP said the Main Street railway gate will be closed until further notice.
