(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Fire Department (PFD) is inviting the community to attend the unveiling of its newest addition, Ladder Truck 52, the tallest ladder truck in Colorado.
The event is set for Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. at Pueblo Fire Station 4, 2201 Lake Ave. Attendees will have a chance to see the truck, which features a 125-foot ladder.
Smeal, the company that custom-built the truck for Pueblo Fire has sent a representative to train truck operators and crew members on its proper operation, safety features, and use.
The truck is rated at 1,300 gallons of water per minute. PFD says the new truck doubles the department’s previous rescue capabilities, with an extended reach for high-rise and river rescues and expanded storage for additional equipment.
Ladder Truck 52 will initially be housed at Station 4 on the city’s south side, with plans to eventually move it to Station 11 on the west side to support the area’s growth.
