(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills is hosting its 4th annual Drive-In Movie Night with a special guest and other family-fun activities on Saturday, Aug. 10.
“Cars Under the Stars” is a drive-in style public movie night at the dealership parking lot located at 1565 Auto Mall Loop. This year’s event will feature Disney Pixar film, Incredibles 2, on a 40-foot outdoor screen.
Gates open at 6 p.m. Pro Football Hall of Farmer and Denver Broncos All-Pro middle linebacker (1974-1983) Randy Gradishar will be onsite signing autographs and offering photo opportunities starting at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. along with the chances to win various giveaways and prizes.
“We care deeply about our local families and their children,” said Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills’ General Manager and Partner Chris Detone. “Community events like ‘Cars Under the Stars’ allow us to celebrate the end of summer and unite to honor our law enforcement officers as a community.”
This year’s movie night will benefit Shield 616 and its mission to provide first responders with life-saving protective gear. Event sponsors purchased 11 bullet-proof vests, which the nonprofit will present to representatives from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department at 7 p.m. that evening.
“We are grateful for Chris and his team’s longstanding commitment to protecting those who sacrificially serve our community,” said Shield616 Founder and President Jake Skifstad. “It’s an honor to work alongside the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Springs Police Department. Thank you to everyone who helped ensure our peace officers are safe.”
Attendees will also be able to enjoy a Nerf battle with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Swat Team, inflatable obstacle courses, bounce houses, cornhole, and wacky trikes before the movie. Pepsi, a partnering sponsor, will be providing complimentary refreshments. Food trucks will be on-site during the event.
In case of inclement weather, activities will be moved inside with the possibility that the movie will not show.
