(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Phil Long Dealerships’ second-annual “Thanks, Jay” giveback campaign, held in honor of the dealership’s previous president and CEO Jay Cimino, raised nearly $99,000.
For every new and pre-owned vehicle sold in April, which was Cimino’s birthday month, the company made donations to five community-focused organizations and projects, totaling $98,500–an increase of more than $2,500 from 2024.
On Tuesday, June 17, the dealership donated $10,000 of those funds to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Phil Long’s president Kevin Shaughnessy said Cimino dedicated his life to connecting others to the resources they needed to be their best, and the company is proud to carry on that legacy.

“One of the biggest strengths of Jay’s legacy is really his philanthropy, and Jay was hugely philanthropic,” said Shaughnessy. “He formed three 501(c)(3) charities here in Southern Colorado himself to serve the needs of others. But even outside of that, he just showed us all the importance of giving and taking care of our community.”
Cimino loved to promote his hometown of Trinidad, and helped facilitate the creation of Fishers Peak State Park.
