(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — According to a Manitou Springs City spokesperson, the 2024 Carnivale Parade and Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo Cook-off have been rescheduled. The new date for the event is Saturday, March 2, and those interested in attending are encouraged to plan ahead to find the best parking.
To clear the route for the parade, Manitou Avenue will be detoured between the hours of noon and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday onto some of the city’s narrower side streets. Westbound traffic will detour onto Old Mans Trail, which will lead into El Paso Boulevard, then Lover’s Lane. Eastbound traffic coming from Ruxton Avenue will detour onto Osage Avenue.
Drivers should keep in mind that these roads are extremely narrow residential roads with on-street parking throughout. Large trucks will not be allowed to use these side roads and will be redirected back onto Manitou Avenue or Highway 24.

Manitou Springs High School and Middle School on 415 Monte Place are opening their parking lots for $10. All money raised will go towards supporting the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and athletic training.
For those who prefer to get a ride into town, the #3 metro bus will be running all day and stops at Memorial Park in Manitou Springs. The #36 shuttle will run on a normal schedule before and after the event but will shut down during the closure of Manitou Ave between 12:45 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Pike Ride is offering a promotion for those who prefer to use their bicycles to get to the event. Riders can pick up an e-bike, using the code BONTEMPSROULER for a free 20-minute trip into Manitou Springs, all the way to Soda Springs Park, where they can drop off the bike at any bicycle rack.
The Carnivale event begins at 1:00 p.m. and is free to attend. The Parade starts at Memorial Park and continues westbound down Manitou Avenue to Soda Springs Park at 1070 Manitou Ave.
