(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A section of Barnes Road near Marksheffel Road will close the week of Feb. 12 for “major utility work,” according to the City.
The City said the work will begin on or after Monday, Feb. 12, and the section of Barnes Road between Antelope Ridge Drive and Marksheffel Road will be closed for about a week for underground utility work.
Travelers should plan additional travel time and seek alternate routes from Feb. 12-19.
The City said a detour will be in place, and signs will direct travelers to Peterson Road and either Stetson Hills Boulevard or North Carefree Circle to bypass the closed work area. Businesses on Barnes Road west of Marksheffel Road will be accessed from Antelope Ridge Drive.
This closure is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change, the City said.
