(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) has arrested a 24-year-old woman for second-degree murder in a double shooting that occurred in December.
On Thursday, Dec. 26, at approximately 2 a.m., PPD responded to the 1100 block of Egan Avenue, near Santa Fe Avenue, on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a conscious man with a gunshot wound and another man, identified as David Trujillo, who was declared dead.
Officers initiated an investigation, engaging the PPD’s Crimes Against Persons Unit and Crime Scene Investigations. On Thursday, Jan. 30, Destiny Trujillo and booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center on second-degree murder charges in the death of David Trujillo.
Trujillo’s death marked the City’s 20th homicide in 2024.
