(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) said a man was riding his bike on Wednesday, March 20 when an unidentified man in a vehicle apparently shot him.

According to PPD, on Wednesday officers received a ShotSpotter alert for shots fired in the 1400 block of East Orman Avenue near West Northern Avenue and the Minnequa Park Apartments.

Officers were searching the area when dispatch received calls about someone in the area yelling that they had been shot. Officers found a man in the backyard of a nearby property, who suffered two bullet wounds and was taken to the hospital.

PPD said when officers talked to the victim, he told them he had been riding his bike when a white station wagon with a man and woman drove up to him. The man in the vehicle apparently stuck his arm out the window and shot the victim twice. The woman then got out of the vehicle and left the area and the man drove off.
