(PUEBLO, Colo.) — A suspect has been arrested after an alleged road rage incident, which preceded a pursuit by officers on I-25 with the Pueblo Police Department (PPD), on Thursday, Oct. 23.
According to police, on Thursday, around 1:40 p.m., officers were called to investigate a potential stabbing near Pitman Place and Alma Avenue, just south of the Colorado State Fairgrounds. During their investigation, dispatch received a report of a gunshot indicated by Shot Spotter, less than a mile away from the original location, near Sprague Avenue.
Soon after, officers were approached by a driver in a white sedan who reported that they had been fired upon during a road rage incident. “The individual identified a second white sedan, which arrived moments later; the male occupant of this vehicle directed aggressive remarks towards the officers and brandished a handgun,” according to PPD.
The vehicle then left the scene, at which time officers began to pursue the suspect and continued to do so on I-25 southbound. According to police, during the pursuit, the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Daniel Stouffer, repeatedly pointed a handgun out of the window.
