(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Pueblo Police Department (PPD) is reminding drivers to watch out for pedestrians and children in school zones.
The police department says to slow down and not drive distracted, they suggest:
Slowing down: School zones have speed limits that are lower than the normal speed limit.
Driving slower gives you more time to react and reduces your chances of hitting a child.
Don’t drive distracted: PPD reminds drivers to pay attention to their surroundings.
Don’t use your phone, change music, or do any distracting task that will reduce focus while driving.
PPD also says that if a driver is cited in a school zone, the fines are doubled.
