Pre-evacuation for wildland fire in Teller County lifted

(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — The Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) announced a pre-evacuation for Lakeview, Forest Heights, northwest of Cripple Creek, due to a wildfire, around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, but the pre-evacuation was lifted by 8 p.m.

According to TCSO, the wildland fire was near County Road 11, near Wright Reservoir, north of 4 Mile Fire Station. The sheriff’s office was advising people to be prepared to evacuate immediately if in danger.

By 8 p.m., TCSO announced that the pre-evacuation warning had been lifted, as the fire was 100% contained. TCSO stated that emergency crews were still on scene.
