Prime Days: COS Amazon sees 35% volume increase

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Watch how Amazon prepared to host one of the biggest shopping events of the year on July 16 and 17.

Prime Days is a 48-hour shopping experience for members to get exclusive deals on millions of items. The online retailer had special deals on 35 categories of products including electronics, beauty, and fashion.

The largest Amazon site in Colorado Springs, located at 4222 Integration Loop, saw 35% more volume than they usually see during this time according to Regional PR Specialist Nissa LaPoint.

According to LaPoint, there are 8,500 independent small to medium-sized business sellers on Amazon who account for 60% of sales.

“It’s really great,” said LaPoint. “They all do really great when they join Amazon and take advantage of Prime like this are able to reach more customers.”

As for operations, General Manager at the Colorado Springs Amazon, Andrea Donegan tells FOX21 that they pride themselves in getting packages out to customers quickly, they use a lot of automation to make sure the package is labeled, and delivered to the right address. She also highlighted that with Prime Days comes a “lot of excitement.”

“I really want to thank our team members we’ve tried to make it very fun here at this location highlighting associates’ hard work,” said Donegan. “We’re doing everything we can to make sure that safety continues to be a priority here at Amazon.”
