ProRodeo Hall of Fame celebrates 45th anniversary

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Tuesday, Aug. 6, The ProRodeo Hall of Fame will officially turn 45, and the celebrations will last all week long.

On Friday, Aug. 2, a rodeo clown reunion kicks off the schedule of events. Activities include autograph sessions, clown act performances, magic tricks, clown storytelling, a clown dress-up contest for kids, and more. On Aug. 3 and 4, the clowns will appear at the Douglas County Fair and PRCA Rodeo in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Anniversary activities continue daily at the Hall of Fame, located at 103 Pro Rodeo Drive, with demonstrations, performances, and educational presentations. On Wednesday, Aug. 6, the Little Champions Youth Program will be offered. Also on Aug. 6, the Hall of Fame will roll back admission prices to what they were when the museum opened on Aug. 6, 1979. Throughout the week, the Hall will feature showings of several rodeo documentaries and feature-length films in a “rodeo film festival” atmosphere.

The celebrations continue until Saturday, Aug. 10, which is free admission day to the museum. The day will feature rodeo film premieres, food trucks, cowboy poetry, trick roping, and whip cracking, as well as a petting zoo, a bouncy house, and a mechanical bull.

“We are excited to plan and execute this milestone anniversary,” said Kent Sturman, Director. “As a museum and hall of fame, we have a lot to celebrate and honor. We are proud of our history and want to share our successes with the fans and museum visitors.”
