Public invited to Grand Re-Opening of The Slab

(PUEBLO, Colo.) — On Thursday, July 31, the City of Pueblo will reopen the Slab featuring new features, improvements, and artwork designed and painted by local artists.

Pueblo Parks and Recreation, Colorado Lottery, Visit Pueblo, the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Pueblo will be celebrating the ribbon cutting and re-opening of the outdoor recreation facility at 2709 North Elizabeth Street.

The City of Pueblo said the Slab was recently completed and the project includes: new post-tension concrete slab, new posts, backboards, hoops, benches, and upgraded LED lighting.

The ribbon cutting on Thursday will begin at 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend and enjoy events such as a shot clock event, skills drills, ice cream, and more after the formal ceremony.

The City said the $500,000 cost of the project was made possible by Colorado Lottery funds.
