(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be hosting an open house for a proposed roadway improvement project on US Highway 24 from Garrett Road to Woodmen Road.
The open house will be at the Falcon Elementary School of Technology at 12050 Falcon Highway in Peyton, on Wednesday, April 3 between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
“We are excited to be moving forward with this US 24 expansion knowing this was a crucial next step identified by our team and stakeholders in area improvements,” said Andy Stecklein, CDOT Region 2 Project Manager.
CDOT said the proposed improvements would include; adding one new lane in each direction and a widened median, along with updating existing intersections to accommodate the widened highway.
According to CDOT, the project will help to enhance safety, improve operational performance, and reduce congestion in the community.
